This is all down to the individual. If you are quite active, it is recommended to get a sports massage regularly, anywhere between once every 1-4 weeks. However, this is only a guideline, once we have seen you for the first time, we can make recommendations tailored to you.
Sports massage has a reputation of being “painful”, however we tailor the pressure to each individual. Sports massage can be slightly uncomfortable; however it should never be painful. Our therapists communicate throughout the treatments to ensure the pressure is just right for you.
Everyone is different, therefore will feel different effects immediately after, sometimes you can feel a bit achy for a day or 2, or you may just feel like you are walking on air! As your body gets used to the pressure over a number of sessions, you will start to see the long term effects, such as joints feeling free, muscles more relaxed, and more energised.
